Ingrid S. Ward

WORCESTER-Ingrid S. (Anderson) Ward, 89, of Worcester passed away Tuesday, July 21 peacefully at home.

She leaves her husband of 68 years, John E. Ward, Sr.; one son, John E. Ward, Jr. of Kingman, AZ; one daughter, Joyce E. McAfee and her husband, Harold of Spencer; two grandchildren, Wendy Casker and her husband, Kevin and Trina Lachance and her husband, Dan; three great grandchildren, Ian, Jocelyn and Daniel, nieces and nephews. Her brother, Eric R. Anderson predeceased her.

She was born in Dalarna, Sweden the daughter of Erik W.R. and Anna S. (Tagtlund) Anderson and came to the United States at age 4. She graduated from Commerce High School in 1937. She worked as a bookkeeper in the Accounting Department at Clark University for 18 years retiring in 1984. She was a member of the former United Congregational Church. She was a member of the Nordic Lodge %23611 Vasa Order of America, Swedish National Federation and the U.S. Steel Retirees Social Club.

A visiting hour will be Friday, July 24 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at LINDQUIST LUNDIN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Butler St. with a service at 11:00 AM in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Hope Cemetery. For directions and online condolences please visit www.lindquistlundin.com.
