Irene E. Berg

WORCESTER-Irene E. (Tarkiainen) Carlson Berg, 95, passed away Monday, March 9 at the Lutheran Home.

Her two husbands, Howard H. Carlson and Carl A. Berg both predeceased her. She leaves her son and caregiver, Howard A. "Happy" Carlson of Auburn and her daughter, Norma I. and her husband, Roy A. Weaver of Columbia, SC; a sister, Helmi Lehtola of Auburn; 6 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Her grandson, Bobby Carlson, six brothers, Arvid, Uno, Elmer, Reino, Walter, Edwin and two sisters, Lillian Pride and Aile Braney predeceased her.

She was born in Rutland the daughter of Adam and Ida K. (Ristila) Tarkiainen and lived in Worcester for most of her life. Mrs. Berg worked as an Office Clerk at Prudential Insurance for over 25 years before retiring. She was a member of Lakeview Congregational Church, S.A.C. Club and the former Engelbrekt Club. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother who will be missed by all that knew her. The family would like to give a special thanks to the caring staff at the Lutheran Home for the care that Irene received.
