Irene C. (Laverty) DeLorge, 86, of 102 Illinois St. died Thursday (Feb28) at the Providence Extended Care Center after an illness.
Her husband of 25 years William E. DeLorge died in 1991. She leaves two sons, William E. DeLorge of Auburn and Robert J. DeLorge of Worcester, a daughter, Shirley A. Tuson of Worcester, two sisters, Margaret Marshall and Muriel Laverty both of Worcester a close companion of several years Alfred Plitnik of Worcester, 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. A daughter, Claire M. Gleason of Worcester died in 1999, Three sisters, Geraldine LaPorte, Rita Dufresne and Helen Dufresne all of Worcester all pre-deceased her
She was born in Worcester daughter of Francis A. and Mary A. (O'Leary) Laverty. She graduated from Saint Peter's High School.
She worked for many years for Melville Shoe Company retiring in 1981 prior to that she worked for the Robert Hall Clothes Company.
She was a life long member of Saint Peter's Church, she was an avid bingo player and a member of Holy Names Church Golden Age Club.
A Funeral will be held Saturday (March2) from Fay Brothers Funeral Home 9 Hammond St.(www.faybrothers.com) with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Peter's Church 931 Main St. Burial will be in Saint John's Cemetery. Calling Hours are Friday (March1) from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Saint Peter's Church Building Fund 931 Main St. Worcester 01610
