WORCESTER-Irene D. (Gregoire) Lahair, 89, of Worcester passed away Wednesday, December 12 at the Rose Monahan Hospice House, surrounded by her family.
Her husband of 63 years, Raymond J. Lahair, Sr. passed away in 2014. She leaves; three sons, Raymond J. Lahair, Jr. and his wife Nancy of Shrewsbury, Robert S. Lahair and his wife Patricia of Millbury, and Gary P. Lahair of Worcester; three daughters, Dianne M., wife of Robert Bernard of Worcester, Patricia I. Mulcahy of Webster, and Sharon A., wife of Glenn McDonald of Dudley. She also leaves 14 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and several nephews and nieces. A son-in-law, Thomas Mulcahy; a brother, William Gregoire and two sisters, Rita Salvatore and Jane Allaire predeceased her. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Napoleon and Ina (Duffany) Gregoire and attended Worcester Schools.
Irene was a crossing-guard for 35 years, at Heard Street School in Worcester. She was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Church. Irene loved to crochet and bake for her family and friends.
The funeral will be held on Monday, December 17 from Callahan Fay Caswell Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle Street, with a Mass at 10:00 am at Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street, Worcester. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery. Visiting hours are Sunday, December 16 from 2-5 pm at the funeral home.
