WORCESTER-Irene E. (Hebert) Larson, 96, passed away peacefully after a brief illness with her family by her side.
She leaves her daughter, Beverly J. Ashcraft of Las Vegas, NV, her beloved Hebert family, dear Luby family and many friends and strangers she touched with the light of her smile, generosity and spirit.
Irene was born in Worcester the daughter of Francis X. and Olivine (Parent) Hebert and graduated from Commerce High School. She lived in Worcester in Quinsigamond Village for 94 years before moving to Christopher Heights Assisted Living of Marlborough two years ago. Mrs. Larson worked as an office clerk at Adley Express for 10 years; she then worked at The Fair for 30 yrs before retiring. At age 80, she went back to work at Sears in Auburn until the age of 88. She loved dancing and Bingo.
Irene's memorial Mass will be on Monday, February 14 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart-St. Catherine of Sweden Church, 600 Cambridge St. There are no visiting hours. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to ASPCA, P.O. Box 96929, Washington, D.C. 20090-6929 or www.aspca.org.
