WORCESTER-Irene M. Sullivan, formerly of 170 A Lovell St., died Monday, June 12, in Holy Trinity Nursing Center. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Thomas and Katherine (Sullivan) Sullivan. She leaves three nephews, a niece and cousins. She was predeceased by two sisters, Catherine M. Sullivan and Margaret M. (Sullivan) Carty, a brother, Thomas J. Sullivan and a sister-in-law, Aileen M. Sullivan.
Miss Sullivan was a teacher and an administrator in the public schools of East Brookfield and Worcester. She graduated from North High School, received a Bachelor of Science in Education from Worcester State College and a Master of Education from Boston University. She was a member of St. Peter's Parish and the Guild of Our Lady, Queen of Peace. She was also a member of the former Catholic Women's Club. She was a charter member of Kappa Delta Pi, national honor society in Education and Delta Kappa Gamma Society International. She was a member of the National Retired Teachers Association and the Massachusetts Retired Teachers Association, Inc.
The funeral will be held on Thursday, June 15 from CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle Street, with a Mass at 11:00 AM in St. Peter's Church, 931 Main Street. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery. A visiting hour will be held from 9:30 - 10:30 the morning of the funeral in the funeral home.
