Irma E. (Alley) Salluce, 91
Died May 9th 2022 after a short illness.
Irma was born in Damariscotta ME, to Richard and Thelma (Plumber) Alley, and grew up on South Bristol. She attended South Bristol elementary school and Lincoln Academy H.S. in Damariscotta. While attending L.A. she roomed with the Erskine family and worked in the Cheechaka Restaurant where she met her husband to be Carmen Salluce. They were married in November 1952 and moved to West Boylston MA where she and Carmen raised their 2 sons, Richard and Michael, daughter Paula, and granddaughter Melissa in the same house Carmen was born in.
Irma loved canning, crocheting, gardening, playing cards and visiting with family. Irma contracted Polio in 1954, the effects of which stayed with her the rest of her life but never dimmed her optimism or her constant smile. She worked at the West Boylston Motel and the West Boylston Best Western Motel where she met her lifelong friend Helen Lapan.
She was predeceased by her Parents, her husband of 59 years, Carmen J. Salluce, in 2011 after a long battle with cancer, and grandson Michael Salluce. Her two Brothers, Richard Alley of Goffstown NH and William "Billy" Alley of South Bristol ME.
She leaves her sons, Richard Salluce and his wife Delia of West Boylston, MA, Michael Salluce of Worcester, MA, daughter Paula (Salluce) Howard and her husband Milo of West Boylston, MA. 6 grandchildren, Melissa (Salluce) Block and her husband Steven of Foxborough MA, Mathew Salluce and Ben Salluce both of Holden MA, Justin Howard of West Boylston, MA, SSG Nathan Howard of Weisbaden, Germany, and Joshua Salluce of West Boylston MA. 3 great grandchildren, Andrew and Ashton Block of Foxborough MA and Lana Salluce of Shrewsbury MA. Many nieces and nephews.
Irma loved her family dearly and was loved by everyone she touched.
Special thanks to her many caregivers who took such great care of her over the past few years, she considered you as an extension of her own family and loved you all.
A Graveside Service will be held Saturday, May 14 at 11:30am in Mount Vernon Cemetery, (Rt.140) Worcester St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: The West Boylston Fire and Ambulance Fund, 39 Worcester Street, West Boylston, MA 01583
