AUBURN- Isaac Sanchez, 70, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2020 at his home, surrounded by loving family, after a courageously fought battle with Alzheimer's disease.
He was born in Canovanas, Puerto Rico on May 2, 1950 a son of the late Pastor Sanchez and Luz Delia Masa. Mr. Sanchez proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was a local minister for many years at Iglesia De Dios Pentecostal Canaan. He was an avid reader and always had a book within arm's reach. A selfless man, he enjoyed helping others with any problems they had and if he didn't have the solution he was quick to steer them in the right direction. He devoted 25 years of his life as a foster parent to children of all ethnicities and ages all across New England especially teenagers. He's changed many lives. He was an avid baseball fan and especially loved the Boston Red Sox.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Sonia (Caraballo) Sanchez; his children, Luis Alicea and his wife, Astrid Alvarado and Eric Sanchez; seven grandchildren, Liz Marie, Luis Jr., Jonathan, Jamsha, Noah, Lemuel and Caleb; his siblings, Iris, Samuel, Pastor Luis, Richard, Freddy, Marisol, Eliut, Damaris and Saul; several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Besides his parents, Isaac was predeceased by four siblings, Juan, Angel, Edward and Anival.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life on Sunday, June 28th with visitation from 3:00pm until 5:00pm at the Callahan, Fay & Caswell Life Celebration Home, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester. A funeral service will begin at 5:00pm in the funeral home.
