J. Arthur Stenstrom

WORCESTER- J. Arthur Stenstrom, 97, died Sunday, April 6, 2008 at the Life Care Center of Auburn. He formerly lived at 29 Halmstead St. until moving to Life Care in 2007. His wife of 64 years, Anna (Tangring) Stenstrom predeceased him in March 2006. He leaves two sisters-in law, Nancy Dahl and her husband George of Canyon Lake, CA and Jean Berglund of Worcester; nephews, nieces and two cousins in Sweden. He also leaves his loving and dedicated caregiver Kathy Duffy, who cared for him for four years prior to going into the nursing home. A brother Arvid Stenstrom of Sweden predeceased him.

He was born in Orebro, Sweden, son of David and Ellen (Larsson) Stenstrom on November 5, 1910 and came to the United States at the age of 19. He worked for the former Telecron Company, a division of General Electric in Worcester and Ashland for more than twenty-five years, retiring in 1975. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II, a member of the Morning Star Lodge and the Nordic Lodge/Vasa Order of America for over fifty years.
