Jackalyne Killeen Dorment, 63, formerly of Potomac, Maryland, died peacefully on March 27, 2006 in Palm Beach, Florida. She was surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Dorment is survived by her beloved husband, John Dorment, and her five children: John Fedden Dorment, Jr., Julia Dorment Kennon, Jennifer Dorment Campbell, Mathew Alexander Dorment and Michael Killeen Dorment, and two grandchildren, Caroline Grace Kennon and Jonathan Killeen Kennon. She is survived by one sister, Patricia Killeen Fouhy, and two brothers, John Joseph Killeen and Kevin Michael Killeen. She leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews and countless friends.

Born to Mary and Jospeh Killeen of Worcester, Massachusetts on January 26, 1943, Mrs. Dorment graduated from Salve Regina University. Until she married in 1968, she worked for Representative Thomas P. (“Tip”) O’Neill, former Speaker of the House of Representatives.

While raising her children, Mrs. Dorment contributed significantly to the Catholic Church and to many notable charitable organizations. She volunteered in the first hospice unit of the Washington Home, where she served on the Board of Directors. She also served on the Board of Directors of the National Hospice Association, CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) and St. Gertrude’s Guild. She was active in the Christ Child Society, Children’s Inn at NIH, S.O.M.E., Gift of Peace, and the Cancer Institue of Palm Beach.

Funeral services were held at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Potomac, Maryland, in March. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Hospice of Palm Beach County, Inc.

Mrs. Dorment was deeply loved, and she will be missed.
