WORCESTER-Jacob "Jake" Frankian, 95, of Overland Park, KS, formerly of Worcester passed away Saturday, March 23.
His wife of 63 years, Elsie R. (Marsoobian) Frankian passed away in 2010. He leaves two children, Michael P. Frankian and his wife, Jody and Jean M. Frankian; two grandchildren, Brian Frankian and Ashley Davis and her husband Keaton; all of Overland Park; a brother, George Frankian and a sister-in-law Florence Eknoian both of Worcester along with many nieces and nephews. Two brothers, Michael Frankian and Harry Frankian and a sister, Catherine Bedigian predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, son of Giragos and Marriam (Danielian) Frankian. He was an Army Veteran of WWII serving in the European Theatre. He lived in Worcester his entire life, moving to Kansas five years ago to spend time with his family.
Jake was a letter Carrier for the US Postal Service for many years, before retirement. He also was a professional funeral home assistant for several Worcester area funeral homes, where he made many great friendships. He was a longtime member of the Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church.
Jake loved being around his family and friends, whether it was dancing at weddings, attending family functions or summers spent at the family home in Falmouth. He enjoyed playing cards, jigsaw and crossword puzzles and reading.
Visiting Hours are Thursday, March 28 at Callahan Fay Caswell Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St. from 4 to 7pm with a Danghark Service to be held during the visiting hours. A Funeral Service to Celebrate Jake's Life will be held Friday, March 29 at 11am in the Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church, 615 Grove Street. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church.
