WORCESTER-Jacqueline M. (Decker) Barnett, 79, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 9 surrounded by her children.
Her husband of 53 years, Bruce A. Barnett died in 2009. She leaves four children, Debra J. Cloutier of Worcester, Donna L. Carlson and her husband, John of Worcester, Steven B. Barnett and his wife, Michelle of North Grafton and John R. Barnett of Worcester; five grand-daughters, Kelly, Ashley, Lindsay, Alyssa and Bryce; her three great-grandchildren whom affectionately called her GG, Madisyn, Liam and Caleb; a sister, Anna Mary Borjeson of West Boylston; two brothers, Donald Decker of Worcester and Paul Decker of Oxford; and nieces and nephews. A daughter, Cathy A. Barnett passed away in 1991. A sister, Carol Walsh predeceased her and her brother, Ronald Decker was killed in action during the Korean War. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Ronald and Loretta (French) Decker and graduated from Commerce High School.
Jacqueline worked for several years at the Worcester County House of Correction, prior to that she worked at Vellumoid Incorporated for over 40 years. She enjoyed traveling to Maine, working in her gardens and playing cards. Jacqueline especially loved being in the company of her family and friends.
The family would like to thank the staff of the ICU at St. Vincent Hospital, especially Kerrin for all their wonderful care and compassion.
Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 14 at 11am in FAY BROTHERS Funeral Home, 1 West Boylston St., West Boylston. Burial will be private. Visiting Hours are Tuesday, October 13 from 4 to 7pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Worcester Animal Rescue League, 139 Holden St., Worcester, 01606.
