WORCESTER-Jacqueline C. (Demarais) Cardinal, 71, of Worcester passed away on Saturday, May 26.
Her husband of 39 years, Ronald T. Cardinal died in 2006. She leaves six children, Michelle Gay and her husband, Kevin of Worcester, Charlene Clark and her fiancé, Richard of Worcester, Bruce Cardinal and his wife, Lauren of Charlton, Stephen Cardinal and his fiancée, Michelle of Paxton, Mary Ready and her husband, Brendan of Newton and Jack Cardinal of Wheat Ridge, CO; four grandchildren, Nicholas, Patrick, Landon and Cassidy; three sisters, Joan Wieliczko, Pauline Girard and Theresa Coulombe and many nieces and nephews. Two brothers, Bertrand and Ronald Demarais and son-in-law, Donny Clark predeceased her. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Napoleon J. and Alice M. (Paul) Demarais and graduated from St. Peter's High School.
Jackie worked for 28 years for Imperial Distributors, before retiring. Jackie was a caring and loving person who always gave of herself to help others. She had a tremendous faith and was a CCD teacher for over 40 years at her church, Our Lady of the Angels. She also enjoyed being a brownie troop leader and lunch guard at Heard Street School in earlier years. Jackie loved spending time with family and friends, most especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed camping, puzzles, walking her dogs, watching Wheel of Fortune and was proud to be a team captain for the Relay for Life for the American Cancer Society.
The Funeral will be held Monday, June 4 from Callahan Fay Caswell Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St. with a Mass at 11am in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main St. Visiting Hours are Sunday, June 3 from 2 to 5pm at the funeral home.
