James “Sonny” Barclay, Jr. 64 of the Odd Fellows Home, formerly of 1060 Main St. died Wednesday, June 7.
He leaves his mother Elizabeth (McPhail) Barclay of Shrewsbury; a brother, Donald Barclay of Shrewsbury; two sisters, Allison McCann of Hancock, NY and Elizabeth and her husband Gregory Rheaume of Shrewsbury; a nephew, Daniel and his wife Denise McCann; and their children, Daniel, Michael and Patrcick McCann all of Mars, PA; a niece, Georgeanna Rheaume of Shrewsbury; two step-nephews, Toby and William Rheaume and a step-niece, Renee Rheaume. He was born in Vancover, Canada son of the late James Barclay Sr. and served in the U.S. Army stationed in Germany. He was a member of the Main South American Legion Post #341. James outgoing personality and love of the New York Yankees will be remembered by family and friends. The Family thanks the staff of the Odd Fellows Home and the wonderful caring “Angels” of the UMASS Hospice.
The funeral service is private in Bourne National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the UMASS Memorial Hospice Foundation, PO Box 2795, Worcester, 01613-9938.
