Worcester-James E. Booker, 79, passed away after a short illness on Thursday, October 24th in his home, surrounded by his family.

He leaves his wife of 58 years, Linda T. (Mallett) Booker; three daughters, Maureen Booker of Worcester, Cathy Lebel and her husband, Peter of Florida and Cheri LaPorte and her husband, Jose of Worcester; six grandchildren, Eric, Jeremie, James Andre, Kory, Emilio and Samuel Booker; five great-grandchildren, Kam, Kai, Isiah, Jordan and Selena; two sisters, Mary Booker and Martha Toney both of Henderson, NV and a niece and nephew. A brother, Matthew Booker predeceased him. He was born in Buckingham County, VA son of Samuel and Susie (Edmons) Booker.

James was a road technician for ComGas and later NStar, before retiring after 33 years of service. He was an avid car lover who enjoyed cruising in his thunderbird or corvette. He also enjoyed attending car shows, watching a good boxing match, and taking an afternoon nap anytime of the day. James enjoyed spending time at home and being with his family and friends. He also loved watching a good crime show and eating a nice fried clam dinner. 

A Funeral Service will be held Friday, November 1st at 4:00pm at Christ Tabernacle Apostolic Church, 1189 Main St. Worcester, MA. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Well Worship Center by CashApp $twwcgive, online at www.givelify.com or by mail to The Well Worship Center, PO Box 1025 Elfers, FL 34680.
