WORCESTER-James P. Curran, 84, of Worcester, died Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at home surrounded by his family. He leaves his wife of 24 years, Denyse A. (Clark) Curran; son, James P. Curran, Jr. of Worcester; daughter, Katherine A. Neale and her husband John of Worcester; daughter-in-law, Debra Curran; six grandchildren, Kelly A. Dube, LeeAnn Letourneau, Jamie L. Robinson, Patrick J. Curran, Jr., Sean P. Curran and Kim DaSilva; step granddaughter, Erin Ringbloom; ten great grandchildren and a step great granddaughter. He also leaves two brothers, John W. Curran of Webster and William E. Curran in TN; two sisters, Mary A. Houlihan of Framingham and Marjorie J. Tonelli of Worcester; many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his first wife, Marjorie C. (Creamer) Curran in 1982, a son Patrick J. Curran in 2004 and three brothers, Joseph, Patrick G. and Francis X. Curran.
He was born in Worcester, son of Patrick J. and Isabella (Fraser) Curran and was an Army veteran of World War II serving as a combat medic in the 164th Infantry. Jim was a carpenter for the Worcester school Department for 22 years and was a member of St. Catherine of Sweden Church.
The funeral will be held on Saturday, January 31st from CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St., with a Mass at 10 AM in St. Catherine of Sweden Church, 1 Wiser Ave. Burial will be in Saint John's Cemetery.
