WEST BOYLSTON
James J. DePatsy, Sr., 66 of 116 Sterling St. died Monday, June 20 at home after a year long battle with Pancreatic Cancer. He leaves his wife of 18 years, Lucy M. (Bratovich) DePatsy; a son, James J. DePatsy, Jr. and his wife Dawn of Yarmouth; two daughters, Joan F. and her husband Chris Dubeau of West Boylston and Jodie A. and her husband Tim Luksha of West Boylston; a stepson, Timothy D. and his wife Michelle Aubin of Pomfret Center, CT; a stepdaughter, Donna L. Breton of Worcester; two granddaughters, Michelle M. Breton and Heather C. Luksha; a grandson, Liam C.J. Dubeau all of West Boylston; seven stepgrandchildren; a brother, Thomas H. and his wife Christine DePatsy of Holden; a sister, Anna M. and her husband, Richard Buron of West Boylston. A stepson, Mark P. Aubin predeceased him.
He was born in Holden son of Bracie H. and Catherine P. (DiLeo) DePatsy and lived in West Boylston all his life. He graduated from Worcester Boys Trade School. James was a Union Brick Layer for 47 years retiring in 2001 and was a foreman for many local contractors. He was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Local %236 Brick Layers Union. He served as the former Parks Commissioner and Little league president for 6 years. James was an avid Nascar fan and a fan of the late Dale Earnhardt. He loved country western music, his home and collecting Nascar memorabilia.
The funeral will be Saturday, June 25 from FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 1W. Boylston St. with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 111 Worcester St. Burial will be in Mt. Vernon Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday, June 24 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Assoc., 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
