WORCESTER-James E. Fay, Jr., 73, of Worcester passed away Friday, November 26 in Saint Vincent Hospital.
He leaves three siblings, William J. Fay and his wife, Donna M. of West Boylston, Catherine A. Harrington and her husband, Dan of Holden and Ann M. Michaels and her husband Rob M. of Brewster; many nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and nephews. A brother, Michael J. Fay died in 2009. He was born in Worcester, son of James E. and Catherine R. (Ladden) Fay and graduated from Saint Peter's High School. Jim was a United States Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War and also served 20 years in Massachusetts Air National Guard.
Jim was a bus driver for over 30 years for the Worcester Regional Transit Authority, before retiring. He was a member of the Saint Joan of Arc Church, the Vernon Hill American Legion Post #435, the Alhambra Council #88 Knights of Columbus and its Bishop O'Reilly 4th Degree Assembly, The 313 Massachusetts Air National Guard Retirees and a supporter of Old Sturbridge Village.
Visiting Hours are Tuesday, November 30 from 4 to 6pm at Callahan Fay Caswell Life Celebration, 61 Myrtle St. A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, December 1 at 10:30am in St. Joan of Arc Church, 570 Lincoln St. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Veterans Inc., 69 Grove St., Worcester, 01605.
