WORCESTER-James F. Laperle, Sr., 83, of Worcester passed away peacefully Sunday, January 27, surrounded by his loving family.
Jim was predeceased by his parents Hazel G. (Parmenter) and Joseph Laperle; his nine siblings, his wife, Ann R. (Hannan) Laperle, their children, Cheryl O'Sullivan, Robert J. Laperle and James F. Laperle, Jr., his second wife, Patricia I. (Gilbert) Laperle.
He is survived by his children Janet A. Laperle of Worcester, Dennis J. Laperle and his wife, Stacy Jablonski of Worcester, Dr. Robin A. Taher and her husband, Akbar of Boylston, Charles H. Laperle and his wife, Melanie of Brookfield and Monique E. Girard and her husband, Shawn of Worcester; three step-children, Paula Wood of Florida, Stuart Vincent and his wife, Jackie of Barre, and Eric Vincent and his wife, Jeannette of Auburn; 13 grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, 2 step-great-grandchildren; 3 brothers in law; 3 sisters in law and nieces and nephews.
Jim was born in Worcester and attended Commerce High School. He was a graphic artist for several area press and envelope companies, spending most his career at Heffernan Press. He was a member of Christ Baptist Church. Jim loved to travel. He enjoyed several trips South to visit Graceland, Foxwoods and Walt Disney. He also loved going on cruises, visiting family in Pennsylvania, or touring Washington DC, but his favorite place was Hampton Beach, where he would enjoy the seafood fest, sand castles and music bands. Jim also loved spending time with family and friends. He especially enjoyed playing pitch, trips to Hot Dog Annies, Summer Concerts and time spent with his oldest daughter at Bedrock Bowlers. He will be remembered as a hard worker and always eager to lend a hand or a listening ear.
Jim's family would like to thank the doctors, staff and especially the specialist at Saint Vincent Hospital as well as the staff at of Century Homecare and Victoria P. and Mariamma D. for all their loving care and support.
Visiting Hours will be held Saturday, February 9 from 10am to 12pm with a Memorial Service to follow at 12pm at Callahan Fay Caswell Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle Street.
