James E. Mahoney

WORCESTER- James Edward Mahoney Jr., 66, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at St. Francis Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

He was born in Worcester on June 3, 1953 a son of the late James E. Mahoney Sr., and Janet F. (Delman) Mahoney. He attended St. Peter's High School before graduating from Burncoat High School Class of 1970. From there, Jim went on to attend the Rhode Island School of Design before forming his own graphic arts company, Ink Spot. He also worked as a graphic designer at various local companies. Throughout his life, Jim also worked part time as a bartender at the Holiday Inn in Marlborough and Three G's Sportsbar, Hotel Vernon and the American Legion Post 318, all in Worcester.

Jim had a love for the ocean and enjoyed freshwater and surf casting fishing. He was an accomplished painter and received multiple awards for his artwork. Many memories were made spending time with family and friends at Plum Island which was his happy place. He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure to know him.

He leaves behind the two great loves of his life, his fiancée, Rene McCluskey of Worcester and his daughter, Rachel Mahoney of Weymouth. He also leaves his siblings, Victoria A. Loyko and her husband, Frank of Seattle, WA., Sharon M. Iaccarino and her husband, Joseph of Worcester, Gary M. Mahoney and his wife, Kathleen of Holden, Susan P. Donahue and her husband, Jack of Worcester and Sean P. Mahoney and his wife, Katherine of Worcester; many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

Relatives and friends will gather to celebrate Jim's life on Tuesday, June 25th from 4:00pm until 6:30 pm at the Lindquist-Lundin Life Celebration Home, 36 Butler St., Worcester. A service will follow the visitation. Burial will be held privately alongside his family in St. John's Cemetery.
