COLUMBIA, MD- James J. Morgan, 58, formerly of Worcester, died Monday, January 9, 2017 in Columbia, MD. He was born in Worcester, son of the late James F. and Elizabeth M. (Whittle) Morgan. James grew up in Tatnuck Square, was a member of Christ the King Church and graduated from Doherty Memorial High School. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Computer Science at Worcester Polytechnic Institute and Master's degree's in both Computer Science and Technical Management from John Hopkins Engineering.
James pursued his interest in computers through a career of over 34 years. A systems architect, leader in network security and project manager for General Dynamics Missions Systems.
He is survived by his siblings; Stephen J. Morgan of Ashland, Susan B. Morgan of Apollo Beach, FL, Kathleen M. Morgan, and Alice E. Morgan, both of Worcester; a nephew, Joseph Morgan and two nieces, Elizabeth L., and Julia E. Morgan. A brother, Michael W. Morgan predeceased him in 2012.
A funeral will be held Friday, January 13 from CALLAHAN FAY & CASWELL Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle Street, Worcester with a Mass at 10am at Christ the King Church, 1052 Pleasant Street. Burial will follow at Hope Cemetery. A visiting hour will also be held on Friday from 8:30 - 9:30 am at the funeral home.
