James (Jamie) Phelan, 57, of Worcester, Massachusetts, passed away unexpectedly on July 6, 2021.
Born in Lynn, Massachusetts, Jamie was the son of the late Edmund L. and Fay J. (Nichols) Phelan.
He attended all secondary schools in Saugus, after which, he graduated from UMass Amherst in 1985 with a degree in Psychology. Jamie went on to further his education by earning a Master's degree in Social Work from San Diego State University.
Jamie dedicated a lifetime of working with people on the autism spectrum and was currently employed by Archway, Inc., in Worcester, Massachusetts. He was passionate and selflessly devoted to providing education and behavioral treatment for people with developmental disabilities.
Jamie leaves behind his loving family; brother Edmund (wife Fiona), niece Colleen (husband Dennis), and nephew Trevor, brother John, and brother Michael (wife Elaine). Jamie loved his rescued cat Joy.
Although Jamie's life came to an end on earth much too soon, his legacy will live on in the hearts and memories of his friends, family and well-loved coworkers.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Jamie's life with a visiting hour on Saturday, July 17th from 1:00pm until 2:00pm at the Callahan, Fay & Caswell Life Celebration Home, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to ARCHway, Inc.
