James L. Seal, 77, of 21 King St. Ext., died Monday, November 19, in the Worcester Medical Center-St. Vincent Hospital after an illness.
He leaves his wife of 53 years, Anne M. (Kelleher) Seal, a daughter, Mary Ann Bahnan of Worcester; a sister, Jane Flynn of Worcester; three grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. A sister Doris Rand of Rochester, NY died in 1983. He was born in Webster, son of Granville and Elsie (Wentworth) Seal.
He was a truck drive for McLean Trucking Co. for many years, retiring in 1986. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theater. He was a Life member of the Main South American Legion Post 341in Worcester. He was a member and former steward of the Teamsters Local %23 170 and a member of the Teamster Local 170 Retiree Club. He was a former member of the Worcester Lodge of Elks. He was a member and collector of St. Aloysius-St. Jude Church. He was a founding member of St. Judes Chapel.
A funeral will be held Saturday, November 24, from Fay Brothers Funeral Home 1 West Boylston St., West Boylston, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Aloysius-St. Jude Church 489 Pleasant St. Burial will be in St. Johns Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours at the funeral home are Friday, November 23, from 6 to 8 p.m.
