SHREWSBURY-James D. Shea, 83, of 311 Main St. formerly of Worcester and Vero Beach, FL died Wednesday, Dec. 17th at home. He leaves his wife of 58 years, Barbara A. (Gubber) Shea; a son, Michael J. Shea of Chelmsford; 2 daughters, Kathleen M. Bergeron of Gainesville, FL and Maureen A. Shea of Boston; 4 grandchildren, nieces and nephews. 2 brothers, Arthur and J. Russell Shea both predeceased him.
He was born in Worcester son of Arthur and Julia (Doyle) Shea. He graduated from Commerce High School and was a Coast Guard veteran of WW II. Mr. Shea was the owner and operator of Shea Carpeting for many years before retiring. He belonged to the Bay Path Squares in Boylston and he was also an avid bridge player.
A funeral Mass will be Saturday, Dec. 20th at 11:30 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main St., Worcester with a reception to follow. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Fay Brothers Funeral Home, 9 Hammond St. is directing arrangements.
