WORCESTER- James Stevens, 88, of Worcester passed away Monday, February 18, 2019 in Saint Vincent Hospital.
He leaves three children, Andrea A. McGuigan and her husband, Timothy of West Brookfield, James J. Stevens of Worcester and Irene Pittman of Worcester; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a sister, Frances Vekas-Tsiatsas and her husband, Steve of Windham, NY; a nephew, Alex Vekas and his wife, Marilyn of Levittown, NY and two great-nephews. His former wife, Beth Holly (Anderson) Stevens passed away in 2016. He was born in Manhattan, NY son of John and Irene (Lignos) Santos and graduated from Haaren High School and attended Long Island University and the University of Iowa. He was a Navy Veteran of the Korean War.
Jim was a buyer in the purchasing department for the City of Worcester for 24 years, before retiring. Jim enjoyed cooking and was an avid Yankees fan. His greatest hobby was photography and he loved capturing photos of family holiday events.
Visiting Hours are Friday, February 22, from 4 to 7pm in Lindquist Lundin Funeral Home, 36 Butler St. A Funeral Service to Celebrate Jim's life will be held Saturday at 10am in the Emanuel Lutheran Church, 200 Greenwood St. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Emanuel Lutheran Church.
