Jane E. Archambault

October 30, 1946 — October 13, 2022

WORCESTER

WORCESTER-Jane E. (Mulcahy) Archambault, 75, passed away Thursday, October 13 at her daughter’s home, after a long battle with cancer.

She leaves her husband and high school sweetheart, Paul Archambault; a daughter, Lisa Archambault and her husband, David Lane of Worcester and his children Edilia and Aidan Lane. She leaves the love of her life, her grand-daughter, Isabella, who gave her a reason to keep fighting. A brother, William Mulcahy predeceased her. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Leonard and Erma (Bassett) Mulcahy. Jane graduated from South High School in 1964 and received her diploma from the David Hale Fanning Trade School to become a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1966.

She loved being a nurse and began her career at the former Worcester City Hospital working in the medical surgical ward and the IV additive department until the facility closed.  She then went on to work at Wingate and St. Mary’s Healthcare, forced to retire due to her illness. The strength of her nurse community was evidenced by her closest friends, Pauline Daniels and Kathy Mahoney, who kept vigil and provided bedside care throughout her last days.  Nurses make the most stubborn patients but the most loyal friends. She loved gardening and bringing orchids back to life, home design, shopping, and going to lunch with her daughter and grand-daughter. Jane was known for her generosity, compassion and sharp-tongued wit.

Visiting Hours are Monday, October 17, from 5 to 7pm at Callahan Fay Caswell Life Celebration Home, 61 Myrtle Street. A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, October 18 at 10am in the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park.
