Janice Muriel McCabe

WEST BOYLSTON-Janice Muriel (Fiske) McCabe, 82, of Lancaster St. passed away peacefully December 31 at home with her family after a long illness.

Janice is survived by five children, Robert McCabe, Jr. of Las Vegas, NV, Sharon Ricardi of Plymouth, John McCabe of West Boylston, Jane Hughes of Windsor, VT and Molly McCabe of West Boylston. She also leaves two sisters, Dorothea LaPrade of Rhode Island and Shirley Fidrych of Suffield, CT. Janice also leaves nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren, as well as many other beloved relatives and friends.

Janice was born in Worcester the daughter of Roland and Ruth (Gardiner) Fiske and graduated from Commerce High School and Boston School of Modeling. She worked briefly as a runway model in Boston, before marrying Robert McCabe Sr. who passed away in 1998. Later in life she worked at Sprague Electric and was a bookkeeper for the West Boylston Motel, as well as being a homemaker.

She was a loyal member of the Jehovah's Witnesses, and was a member of the Burncoat Hall. In addition, she loved to read, bake, and was an avid gardener.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 9 at 1:30 PM at Burncoat Kingdom Hall, 659 Franklin St., Worcester. Burial will be private in Grove Cemetery, Holden. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation be made either to the Jehovah's Witnesses c/o Burncoat Kingdom Hall, 659 Franklin St., Worcester, MA 01604 or VNA Care network and Hospice of Worcester (www.vnacarenetwork.org), 120 Thomas St., Worcester, MA 01608 or Caregiver Homes of Massachusetts (www.caregiverhomes.com) who cared for her so kindly. Arrangements are under the care of FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, West Boylston.
