Jason "Jay" Ernest Garry, 42, passed away after a brief illness on May 21, 2021 at UMass Medical Center.

Jason was born in the Philippines on June 25, 1978, a son of John E. Garry, a retired Master Sergeant in the Air Force, and Susan (Aguido) Lewis. He was raised in Woodbridge, Virginia and graduated from Potomac High School before attending Worcester State College where he earned a bachelor's degree in Business. Jason was employed as a Financial Settlement Specialist for the Unum Group for many years.

"Coach Jay" as he was referred to by his players, volunteered countless hours with the Jesse Burkett Little League and throughout the years was involved as a parent, coach, board member and Past President of the organization. He was selfless, patient, kind and generous with his time and baseball knowledge. Jason also volunteered with the Big Brothers Big Sisters Program where he was a mentor to growing youth. He also volunteered his time helping senior year students in the Worcester Public Schools with their applications to college. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching and playing baseball, softball, football, basketball, and golf. Jason had a passion for fantasy sports and was active in several different baseball and football leagues.

Jason leaves behind many that will miss him tremendously including his loving wife, Aileen (Lovely) Arnold-Garry; his boys, Nathan Garry and Brendan Arnold, both of Worcester; his father John E. Garry and his wife, Jill Garry of Illinois, his mother Susana A. Lewis and her husband, Kevin Lewis of Georgia; a brother and nephew, Joshua Garry and his son, Julian Garry of Tennessee; his mother and father-in-law, Carolann King and her husband, William G. King of Paxton; and many extended family members and close friends.

Jason was predeceased by his grandparents and his sister-in-law Katie Lovely.

Family and friends will celebrate Jason's life with a funeral Mass on Friday, May 28th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 929 Main St., Worcester. Burial will be held privately. To honor Jason's memory, his family asks that memorial donations be considered to the Jesse Burkett Little League at jesseburkett.com.
