Javier Colon

Shrewsbury-Javier Colon, 67, passed away Wednesday, June 24 in UMASS Medical Center.

He leaves his wife, Yolanda (Rivera) Colon; his children, Merida Serrano, Elizabeth Colon Porcaro and her husband James, Javier Colon, Jr. and his wife, Cynthia, Justin Rivera, Jonathan Rivera and Robert Brooks; his siblings, Carmen Colon, Alma Rivera and Arlene Albarran and many grandchildren. He was born in the Bronx, NY son of Luis Colon and Doris Quinones and attended the New England School of Accounting. He served in the United States Army.

Javier worked for the Department of Youth Services, previously owned Munch Times catering and occasionally refereed boxing matches. Javier enjoyed coaching and playing baseball, playing poker, boxing, watching Western movies and making his family and friends happy.

A Visiting Hour will be held Saturday, June 27 from 9 to10am with a Funeral Service at 10am at Callahan, Fay & Caswell Life Celebration Home, 61 Myrtle Street, Worcester, MA. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery.
