WEST BOYLSTON- Jay Evan Lamoureaux, 71, of Holden, formerly of West Boylston, passed away on December 1, 2015 at St. Vincent Hospital following a brief illness.
Jay was born May 2, 1944 a son of the late G. Everett and M. Shirley (Conlin) Lamoureaux. He attended local schools and graduated from West Boylston High School Class of 1963.
Jay proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Jay began work as a driver at George Lamoureux Company formerly of Worcester. He owned and operated Jay's Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Store in Holden for a number of years. Following its closing he worked for Wachusett Pre-Cast in Sterling for many years.
He was a member of Bedrock Golf Club where he played in many leagues. He was also a Hall of Fame Bowler and member of the Napolean Social Club in Gardner.
Jay is survived by his beloved daughter, Michelle (Lamoureaux) Nelson of Oakham; his brother, Paul Lamoureaux and his wife Marijean (Caldwell) of Sudbury; his nephew Todd Lamoureaux and his wife Ellen of York, ME; his nieces Nicole Lamoureaux of Marlboro and Andrea (Lamoureaux) Winchenbaugh and her husband Michael of Framingham; he also leaves his former wife and close friend Susie (Varner) Lamoureaux of Port St. Lucie, FL.
He was predeceased by his infant son, Michael David Lamoureaux
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday December 15th at 2:00PM at Our Lady of Good Council Parish, 111 Worcester St., W. Boylston. Burial is to follow at Mt. Vernon Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME 1, W. Boylston St., W. Boylston.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF), 383 Main Avenue, 5th Floor, Norwalk, CT 06851.
The family wishes to thank the Doctors, Nurses and Staff of the Critical Care Unit at St. Vincent Hospital for the loving care that they gave to Jay during his time there.
