Jean E. (Prue) Carrigan of Seabrook, NH, formerly of Worcester, passed away Thursday, February 3, 2011 at UMASS Memorial Hospital. She leaves her husband of 52 years, James E. Carrigan; two daughters, Charlene M. Keefe and her husband Tom of Worcester and Kathleen A. Carrigan of Boston; three grandchildren, Shaun, Tara and Courtney Keefe, and three great grandchildren, Shamus, Shauna and Patrick. She also leaves a brother, David Prue of Worcester; four sisters, Theresa Dell'Aquila, Denise McTigue and Gail Prue, all of Worcester and Janet Troio, of N.C.; many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her son Kevin J. Carrigan in August, 1988 and a brother Norman Prue.
She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Homer and Irene (Arseneault) Prue and graduated from St. Peter's High School. Jean worked as a bookkeeper for various companies, most recently at Carri Partitions and Economy Foods. She was a longtime member of Blessed Sacrament Church. Jean loved to travel, knit and was an avid reader.
The funeral will be held on Saturday, February 5 from CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St, Worcester with a Mass at 11:00 AM at Blessed Sacrament Church, 555 Pleasant Street. Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Visiting hours will be also be held on Saturday from 9:00 - 10:30 AM in the funeral home.
