Worcester-Jean passed away on October 16 after an illness with her family by her side at 81 years of age. She leaves behind three children, Steven R. Martin, Scott T. Martin and Deborah E. (Martin) Swalec, four grandchildren, Melissa J. Martin-Greene, Catherine M. Swalec, Pamela J. Swalec and Daniel P. Swalec as well as nieces and many cousins in both the U.S. and Sweden and many dear friends.
The daughter of the late J. Einar Lundholm, Ellen M. (Mossberg) Bergeson and her stepfather John G. Bergeson. Jean was a warm and loving woman who will be greatly missed by all those whose lives she touched. She graduated from Worcester High School of Commerce in 1946 and Worcester City Hospital School of Nursing in 1949 where she remained an active alumna of the school attending many reunions. Jean was a retired RN who worked at both Worcester City Hospital and the Lutheran Nursing Home. She was a former Girl Scout and Girl Scout leader. She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church and belonged to its Lutheran Church Women, Choir and Bell Ringers. Jean was an avid knitter and crafter who loved Cape Cod, vacations with her family at Nickerson State Park, NH and the ocean, especially four wheeling on Nauset Beach in Orleans.
A Memorial Service will be Saturday, October 20 at 10:00 AM at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 200 Greenwood St. Interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Emanuel Lutheran Church, 200 Greenwood St., Worcester, MA 01607 or to Camp Calumet Lutheran Camp, P.O. Box 236, West Ossipee, NH 03890.
