WORCESTER-Jeanne D. (Boliver) Brown, 72 of Worcester passed away at home on December 16th in the company of her children, following a valiant battle with cancer. In addition to the "best friends in the world," she is survived by four children: David J. Brown and his wife Donna of Westhampton, Marybeth Karsok and her husband Bill of Douglas, Daniel J. Brown and his wife Ronda Zakocs of Dedham, Christine M. Brown and her husband Bill Keeler of North Grafton; 11 beloved grandchildren; Laura, Samantha, Jared, Ryan, Max, Nolan, Declan, Jayce, Brady, Bridget, & Jackson, a brother Leo Boliver and his wife Mary of Millbury, and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by a brother Vincent Boliver, husband of Dolores of Brooklyn, CT.
The daughter of Bridget and James Boliver, Jeanne lived many years in Millbury. She graduated from Millbury High School and Saint Vincent's School of Nursing. Jeanne was the Health Coordinator for Worcester Head Start for 26 years, retiring in 2001. She previously worked as an R.N. at St. Vincent's Hospital for many years.
Jeanne was a lifelong parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes. She was a member of St. Vincent's Alumni, the Worcester Catholic Nurses, and the Guild of Our Lady of Providence. She was also a member of the YWCA swim aerobics group, the Roaming Readers Book Club and enjoyed volunteering at the Free Medical Clinic at St. Bernard's Church. She also loved traveling with her many friends. An avid birdwatcher and gardener, Jeanne will always be remembered for her green thumb.
A Mass celebrating her life will be held at 10 AM on Friday, Dec. 21st at Our Lady of Lourdes, 1290 Grafton St., Worcester, followed by burial at St. John's Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 4-7 PM on Thursday at CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St. in Worcester. Memorial donations may be sent to the Free Medical Clinic, Guild of Our Lady of Providence, 49 Elm St., Worcester, 01609, or to Our Lady of Lourdes.
