Jeanne Louise (Englund) Silven, 85, of Princeton, MA, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2026, with her children by her side. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Gerald Allen Silven, in October 2025.

Jeanne was born on November 8, 1940, in Worcester, Massachusetts, the daughter of the late Leonard K. and Leone E. (Moody) Englund. She graduated from North High School in 1959 and from Worcester City Hospital School of Nursing in 1962. She began her nursing career at Worcester City Hospital before becoming the Public Health Nurse for the Town of Princeton and concurrently the school nurse at Thomas Prince School. She will fondly be remembered for her familiar reminders to students: “Stop running in the hallway!” and “Tie those shoelaces!”

Jeanne married her husband in June of 1967, and in 1969 they moved to Princeton, where they purchased the original ski lodge on Mount Wachusett. Together, they lovingly renovated it into the home where they would raise their family and make countless memories.

Jeanne was deeply involved in the Princeton community. For many years, she and her husband ran the chicken barbecue at the First Congregational Church and Hey Day. She also served for many years as the coordinator of the student ski program and proudly volunteered as a firefighter for the Town of Princeton.

Family was at the heart of Jeanne’s life. She leaves her daughter, Jodi Taylor (Silven) Sarkisian, and her son, Jason Whitney Silven, both of Princeton; her cherished grandchildren, Casey John Sarkisian of Sterling and MacKenzie Rae Sarkisian of Auburn; her cousin and best friend, Sally Englund of Plymouth; and several nieces.

Jeanne treasured her summers in Wayne, Maine, and found great joy in the simple things in life. She loved gardening and filling her yard with flowers and bulbs, tending to her koi pond, doing crossword, scratch tickets, and collecting cookbooks. Above all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and watching them grow.

Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
