HAMPTON BAYS, NY-Jeffrey S. Caffrey, 35, died Wednesday June 22 after complications from back surgery.
He leaves his wife of 7 years, Kathleen (Dooley) Caffrey; a son, Ryan Caffrey of Hampton Bays; his mother, Eleanor (Mauke) Caffrey of Worcester; two brothers, Douglas Caffrey of Milford and John Caffrey of Worcester; five sisters, Colyne Germain of Auburn, Susan Scavone of Worcester, Nancy Brunell of Sturbridge and Eleanor Caffrey-Bianchini and Martha Caffrey both of Charlton; many nieces and nephews. Three brothers, Stephen, William and James Caffrey all predeceased him.
He was born in Worcester, son of the late Colwyn Caffrey and Eleanor (Mauke) Caffrey and graduated from South High School where he played Baseball. Before moving to New York he worked for Pioneer Oil Company. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved the Red Sox, Patriots and fishing with his son.
The funeral will be Monday, June 27 from the J. Ronald Scott Funeral Home, 20 Ponquogue Ave., Hampton Bays, NY with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in St Rosalie's Church, 31 E. Montauk Hwy, Hampton Bays, NY. Burial will be in New York. Calling hours will be Sunday, June 26 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the funeral home. A memorial Mass will be Tuesday, June 28 at 6:00 p.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church, 555 Pleasant St., Worcester, MA. Callahan & Fay Brothers Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester is directing local arrangements. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 25 Spring St., Walpole, MA 02081 or the Make a Wish Foundation, 295 Devonshire St., 4th Floor, Boston, MA 02110.
