Joan V Chiriaco

WORCESTER-Joan V. (Mial) Chiriaco, 89, passed away Sunday, August 17 in St. Vincent Hospital.

Her husband of 32 years, Christy L. Chiriaco died in 2010. She leaves her companion, Henry Rossik of Auburn; two nephews, Patrick Sheary and Daniel Sheary; and close friends, Michael and Joanne Rossik of Buzzards Bay. Her sister, Carol C. Sheary predeceased her. She was born in Worcester, son of Peter P. and Violandi A. (Opari) Chiriaco and graduated from Commerce High School.

Joan was an office clerk for many years for the former Thom McCann Company. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Assumption Albanian Orthodox Church and its woman’s club.

A Visiting Hour will be held Tuesday, August 25 from 10 to 11am in St. Mary’s Assumption Albanian Orthodox Church, 635 Salisbury Street. A Funeral Service will follow at 11am in the church. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Joan’s church.
