Joan M. (Doyle) Shea, 80, formerly of Truro St. died Sunday, April 3, in the Millbury Healthcare Center.
Her husband, Joseph M. Shea died in 1991. She leaves four sons, Michael J. Shea of Hubbardston, Daniel F. Shea of Oxford, Gerald E. Shea of Boylston and Joseph B. Shea of Spencer; two daughters, Noreen E. Shea-Carreau of Worcester and Joan M. Shea of Auburn; a sister, Rita LaMountain of East Thetford, VT; a aunt, Ellen Lambutis of Holden; two sisters in law, Gertrude Doyle of Spencer and Dorothy Annis of Sutton; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Two brothers, Louis and Bernard Doyle, predeceased her. She was born in Millbury, daughter of Benjamin and Ellen (LaBreck) Doyle. Joan was a licensed practical nurse at St. Vincent Hospital for 37 years and spent her life caring and doing good for others. She was a member of the Massachusetts Assoc. for the Blind and enjoyed camping, bowling and was an avid crafts person.
The funeral will be held Wednesday, April 6, from CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St. with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main St. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday, April 5, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Mission to the Americas, 2530 Washington St., Denver, CO 80205.
