Joan M. Sullivan

WORCESTER-Joan M. (Michalowski) Sullivan, 73, of Worcester, died Saturday, May 2 at home surrounded by her family. She leaves her husband of 53 years, Joseph M. Sullivan; two sons, Michael J. Sullivan and his wife Kathy of Oxford and Joseph B. Sullivan and his wife Sheila of Worcester; a brother, Fred Michalowski of Milwaukee, WI and five grandchildren; Jen, Erin, Bridget, Mikaela and Patrick. A brother Robert Michalowski predeceased her.
She was born in Worcester, daughter of Stanley and Catherine (Malloy) Michalowski and attended Commerce High School. Joan worked as a Teacher's Aide for the City of Worcester and then later worked at Worcester State College. She was a long time member of St. Charles Borromeo Church, member and past president of the Worcester-Auburn Emblem Club. She volunteered for VNA Hospice and the Rose Monahan Hospice Residence.
The funeral will be held on Thursday, May 7 from CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St. with a Mass at 11:00 AM in St. Charles Borromeo Church, 341 June Street. Burial will be private. A visiting hour will be held from 9:00-10:30 AM the morning of the funeral in the funeral home.
