PAWTUCKET, RI-Joanne (Cocaine) Vasiliou, 87, passed away Saturday, January 15. Her husband, Cleon Vasiliou died in 1976.
She leaves her sister, Demetra Demou of Seekonk, MA and several nieces and nephews, among them, Tina Cocaine of Worcester, Nicholas Demou of Seekonk, MA, William Peppes of Lincoln, RI and Stacey Aguiar of Rehoboth, MA. Two brothers, the former Worcester Telegram and Gazette photographers George Cocaine and Charles Cocaine and three sisters, Mary Peppes, Angelina Cocaine and Efproxia Cocaine predeceased her.
She was born in Worcester the daughter of Peter and Eva (George) Cocaine. Joanne lived in Florida, Long Island, NY, Worcester and moved to Pawtucket in 1988 after retiring from Allstate Insurance Company in Worcester. She was a former member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral.
Joanne's funeral was held at St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, Worcester on Wednesday, January 19 and burial was in Hope Cemetery, Worcester. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell St., Worcester, MA 01609.
