WORCESTER-John J. “Jack” Carney, 77, of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 15, surrounded by his loving family.
He leaves his children, Michael P. Carney and his wife Roseann, Colleen M. Carney, Kerriann M. Carney, John P. Carney, and Christine M. Carney; his grandchildren, Riley Ann Lapierre, Ryan P. Carney, Michaela C. Carney, Sierra A. Bourke, Aidan M. Carney, and Emmett M. Lapierre; lifelong friends James McNamara and Patricia Willar, great grandchildren, sisters-and-brothers in law, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
John was predeceased by his wife, Kathleen M. (Stubbert) Carney, his brother, Howard Carney, his daughter, Theresa Carney, and his parents, Howard and Theresa (Ford) Carney, and many friends and family members.
John served as a Eucharistic Minister for many years as his faith was very important to him. He enjoyed being in the sun, especially at the beach, trips to the casino, and spending time with his family and friends. He was in the Ironworkers Union for over 50 years.
Words cannot express how greatly John’s family and friends will miss him, his stories, and his sense of humor.
A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, February 24 at 11am in Immaculate Conception Church, 353 Grove St. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org
