WORCESTER- John Francis Corbett, Jr., 75, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2021 surrounded by his loving family, at UMass Medical Center.
He was the husband of 45 years to the late Lucielle "Sue" (Habib) Corbett who passed away in 2010.
He was born in Worcester on November 26, 1945 a son of the late John Francis Corbett Sr., and Ethel (Belk) Corbett. John attended local schools and was employed for thirty years at Sweet Life / New England Grocers which was ultimately bought out by SuperValu. After his retirement from SuperValu he returned to work for several years at Rotmans Furniture.
John cherished time spent with his family and friends, and they enjoyed many trips to Hampton Beach. He loved trying his luck on Keno and scratch tickets at "the corner" and always lent an ear to others who wanted to talk especially over a cold Miller Lite.
He leaves behind his children, Christopher John Corbett and his wife, Lori of High Point, NC., Patrick Thomas Corbett and his wife, Jennifer of Spencer and Ann Marie McPartland whom he raised as his daughter; three grandchildren, Kyle Corbett of Hubbardston, Casey Corbett, and Jordan (Jude) Corbett both of High Point, NC; his siblings, Rosemary Baker, Carolyn Howard, David Corbett, Francis Rabidou and Brian Corbett; several nieces and nephews including, Jessica Walsh, Ashley McPartland and Breanne McPartland whom he considered his grandchildren and many extended family members and friends.
Besides his beloved wife and his parents, John was predeceased by a grandson, Ryan Wooldridge-Corbett.
Family and friends will celebrate his life with visiting hours on Thursday, September 16th from 4:00pm until 7:00pm at the Callahan, Fay & Caswell Life Celebration Home, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00am on Friday September 17th at Our Lady of The Angels Church, 1220 Main St., Worcester. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery.
