WORCESTER - John F. Foley, Sr., 90, of Worcester passed away Friday, July 3 in the Lutheran Home.
His wife, Marguerite M. (Kelly) Foley died in 1967. He leaves his son, John J. Foley, Jr. of Worcester; two daughters, Justine F. Kostka wife of Stanley J. Kostka of Cherry Hill, NJ; and Kathleen E. Foley of Worcester; two grandchildren, Evan D. Kostka of Cherry Hill, NJ and Todd C. Kostka and his wife, Mary M. Kostka of Haddon Township, NJ. He was predeceased by a son, James T. Foley; four sisters, Mary C. Foley, E. Rita Foley, N. Teresa Tripp and Marguerite F. Foley; and a brother in law, Douglas E. Tripp. He was born in Worcester, son of Timothy T. and Elizabeth F. (DeCourcy) Foley and graduated from Saint Stephen's High School. He was a Navy Veteran of WWII.
John was a working foreman for the City of Worcester Sanitation Department for 35 years, before retiring. He was a member of Christ the King Church, the Tatnuck American Legion Post %23288 and the Retired State, County and Municipal Employees Association.
The family would like to thank the entire staff of the Lutheran Home for their loving care.
The Funeral will be held Friday, July 10 from CALLAHAN~FAY AND CASWELL, 61 Myrtle St. with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Christ the King Church, 1052 Pleasant St. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Visiting Hours are Thursday, July 9, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the, The Lutheran Home, 26 Harvard Street, Worcester, 01609.
