John "Jack" Navin

July 27, 1951 — December 18, 2023

John K. Navin (Jack), 72 of Paxton, MA passed away peacefully at home with his beloved wife and daughters by his side, after a long 3 1/2-year battle with pancreatic cancer.

Jack was born in Worcester and graduated from South High School. He worked in the Worcester Public School System for over 40 years before retiring in 2013 as the Coordinator of Maintenance and Custodial Services.

Spending his days in constant motion, Jack was a health and fitness fanatic, avid sports fan, and golfer. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He always made time to watch all of their sporting events. recitals, and school functions. The rest of his time was spent working on his landscaping, his homes, yards and homes of his two girls. There was nothing Jack wouldn't do for his family and friends.  Jack was a storyteller and loved telling the tales of his adventurous youth. He never went far without bumping into someone he knew, and the conversations were endless. He truly enjoyed connecting with people.

He leaves his wife, Mary (Barbour) of Paxton, his daughter, Courtney Sweeney and her son Matthew, of Paxton, his daughter, Caitlin Loehfelm, her husband Kevin and their 4 children, Quinn, Colin, Ashlyn and Evelyn, of Wrentham.  Jack also leaves his sister Jean Navin, of West Boylston, his sister Kathleen Yeaton, of Sutton, and her husband David, many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great-nephews, all of whom he loved dearly.  Jack was predeceased by his parents, George and Marion (White) Navin and his brother Richard Navin.

Family and friends are welcomed to a celebration of Jacks life with a funeral Mass at St. Columba Catholic Church on Saturday, December 23, 2023 at 10:00am, 10 Richards Avenue, Paxton, (go directly to church).  Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, 260 Cambridge Street, Worcester.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. John's Food for the Poor, 20 Temple Street, Worcester, MA 01604.
