John K. Mooshian

John K. Mooshian, 91, formerly of Hillcrest Ave, died on June 28^th, 2023 surrounded by his children. John is survived by his two sons, John T. Mooshian and his wife Christine and Michael J. Mooshian and his wife Maureen, three granddaughters, Mary, Emily, and Grace, and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his wife Rose Mooshian (Haroutian), and his brother Oscar Asadoorian of Worcester.

John was born in Worcester, the son of Ohan and Almas Mooshoian (Harootounian). He graduated from Commerce High School and the former Leicester Junior College. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean War era. John retired from the Worcester Public Schools.

John loved his family and spent his weekends with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed spending vacations at the Cape and working in his garden. He could always be found watching local sports games, putting together Sunday family dinners, and for many years, walking around the city, easily acquiring friends along his route.

He was friendly, funny, and loved his community. He was a member of the Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church and served as a Sunday School teacher. He was an advisor and member of the Armenian Youth Federation, where he met his wife of 60 years. He was also a member of its Men’s Club and served on several Armenian Olympic Committees.

John lived for his family and friends, and most importantly, his morning coffee and bagel. His greatest joy was his grandchildren; he was dedicated to supporting them in their endeavors and taking them to lunch any chance he got.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 5^th at 11:00 AM in  the Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church, 635 Grove St, Worcester.  Calling hours will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM in the church.  Burial with Military Honors will follow in Hope Cemetery. Callahan, Fay & Caswell Life Celebration Home, 61 Myrtle Street, Worcester is directing funeral arrangements. For the health and safety of all in attendance, masks will be required and available upon arrival.
