John Richard Dixon, 67, of Worcester, Massachusetts passed away on Friday, July 12, 2024, at his residence.
Born Saturday, November 17, 1956 in New Orleans, Louisiana, he was the son of the late Richard Raymond Dixon and the late Evelyn (Mila) Hallman. John attended Carl Sandburg High School in Illinois, and proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. Following his service, he dedicated many years to Ryder Student Transportation in Massachusetts as a mechanic.
He leaves behind his daughter, Lindsey Jones (Casey) of Greeneville, Tennessee; two sisters, Catherine Clark of Dyersburg, Tennessee and Lynn Adamopoulos of North Carolina; grandson, Casey D. Jones of Greeneville; ex-wife, Wendy Kunst of Limestone, Tennessee; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Sandra Clifton of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, and Laura Jackson of Dyersburg.
The family would like to thank John's close friend, Tyrrell, the Worcester VA, and the funeral home for assisting in final arrangements. A celebration of life will be organized at a later date.
