John Richard Rasku

RINDGE, NEW HAMPSHIRE/WORCESTER-John Richard Rasku, Sr., 69 of Rindge, NH died suddenly on Friday, August 10.

He was born in Worcester on December 2, 1937 the son of the late Walter R. and Esther M. (Paananen) Rasku. He grew up in Worcester attending local schools, before joining the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Rasku was employed by the U.S. Post Office for many years and relocated to New Hampshire 10 years ago.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sharon (Bordash) Rasku of Worcester; two sons, John Richard Rasku, Jr. and his wife Blanca Casas of Winchester; Thomas A. Rasku and his companion Sandra Kim of Cambridge; a daughter, Katherine M. Benkiran and her husband Abdelhay Benkiran of Winchester; six grandchildren, Julia Marie Rasku, Erick James Rasku, Hyatt Sharon Benkiran, Anwar Hamid Benkiran, Sean Richard Rasku Casas and Isabella Alexandra Rasku Casas. He is also survived his brother, Charles A. Rasku and his wife Christine M. (Karlon) Rasku of Worcester and a sister, Christine A. Homewood and her husband Jeff Homewood of Rutland and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Rasku enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf and the latest computer technology, of late he had become an avid photographer taking many photographs of friends, family and nature. He enjoyed working on his property doing many home improvements himself.

A visiting hour will be held on Wednesday, August 15 from 9:00 to 10:00 AM with a Funeral Service to be held at 10:00 AM at LINDQUIST LUNDIN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Butler St., Worcester. Interment will follow in All Faiths Cemetery, Worcester. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
