Worcester - John F. Scotti, (Jace, Jackie) passed away suddenly on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at his home in Port Orange, Florida just days shy of his 62nd birthday.

John was born in Worcester on April 1, 1956 a son of the late John B. Scotti and Barbara M. (Laverty). John grew up in the Lakeview area of Worcester and attended St. John's High School in Shrewsbury where he graduated in 1974. John then began his studies at Worcester State College where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Urban Studies and Affairs.

After college John worked as a bartender at the Lakeside Bar, The ITAM, The Four Seasons and he also worked for DYS at Juvenile Detention center in Westboro before beginning a career as a real estate broker. John moved to Florida where he continued his work in real estate and also found a job working as a counselor for the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice.

John's greatest joy in life was time spent with his son, Johnny. When his son was young he enjoyed coaching him in football and basketball. Special memories were made at Martha's Vineyard, Camp Ellis and Old Orchard Beach. John was an avid fan of all the New England sports teams and wasn't afraid to voice his opinion on politics or current affairs.

He leaves behind many that will miss him dearly including his son, Johnny Scotti of Florida; a sister, Patty Kurkiewicz and her husband, Stas of Worcester; his aunt and uncle, Pat and Phil Brunelle of Worcester; six nieces and nephews, Kerri, Kristin, Kevin, Munch, Matt and Jess; eleven great nieces and nephews; many cousins and countless friends.

John was predeceased by an infant brother, Joseph Scotti.

Family and friends in Florida will gather to honor, remember and celebrate his life on Monday, April 2nd from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Loman Funeral Home, 733 W Granada Blvd, Ormond Beach, FL 32174

Family and friends in Massachusetts will gather to honor, remember and celebrate his life on Wednesday, April 4th from 9:30am until 11:30am at Callahan, Fay and Caswell Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester. A funeral Mass will follow at 12 Noon at St. John's Church, 44 Temple St., Worcester.

The family kindly asks that flowers be omitted however memorial contributions may be made to the St. John's Food for The Poor Program, 20 Temple St., Worcester, MA 01604.
