WORCESTER-Jose Martinez, 85, of 11 Marble St. passed away Sunday. He leaves two daughters, Nereida Rodriguez and Maria Martinez of Worcester; his sister, Eufracia Martinez of S. Philadelphia; 14 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and many nieces and nephews. A daughter, Noemi Martinez and a son, Jose W. Martinez predeceased him.
He was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico the son of Pablo and saturnine (Garcia) Martinez and lived in S. Philadelphia for 40 years before moving to Worcester in 2004. Jose was a WW II Army veteran.
Jose's funeral service will be held TUESDAY, JANUARY 8 at 10:00 AM at CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St. Interment will be in Hope Cemetery. A visiting period will be held from 9:00 to 10:00 AM. Please omit flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
