HOLDEN-Joseph B. Finnegan, 80, passed away Saturday, October 29 at UMASS Medical Center.

He leaves his wife of 50 years, Michaela H. (McGrath) Finnegan; three daughters, Erin B. Finnegan-Bucci of Andover, Michaela J. Landers and her husband, Terrence of N. Andover and Meghan M. Mello and her husband, Justin of Dracut; grandchildren who affectionally called him "Bow Wow" Joseph, Griffin, Maeve, Finnegan, Teagan, Declan, Reese, Brayden, Ronan, and Maddie; a sister-in-law, Gail M. Finnegan of Paxton and many loving nieces and nephews. Three siblings, John F. Finnegan, Rita M. Fraser, and Jane A. Murphy predeceased him. Joe was born in Worcester, son of Joseph B. and Mary A. (McManus) Finnegan and graduated from North High School, Worcester State College and received his master’s degree from Assumption College. Joe served in the Army Security Agency stationed in Japan.

Joe was a Probation Officer in the Worcester Central District Court for 30 years. He was also the former owner and realtor for Century Twenty One Finnegan and Janulevicius Real Estate Agency. He served as a trustee for Local 254 AFL-CIO, he was on the Board of Directors for the Safety Council and was a member of the Zoning Board of Appeals for the City of Worcester. Above all, he was a proud patriarch who was happiest surrounded by his family. As a beloved patriarch, he had great pride for his family, sharing experiences, accomplishments, and life lessons to all those around him. He loved and gave so much to so many people never asking for anything in return. As many often said "to know Joe is to love him!".
