Joseph J. Horgan, Jr.

Joseph J. Horgan, Jr., 86, of West Boylston died on Tuesday, December 24, 2024 in the Christopher House after an illness.

   He leaves his wife of 62 years, Anne R. (Dumas) Horgan, two sons; John J. Horgan of Holden, Patrick J. Horgan of Fitchburg, two daughters; Anne Marie Combs and her husband Andrew of Leominster and Mary E. Horgan of Rutland, a brother Robert Horgan of Worcester, a sister Sheila Horgan of Mystic, CT, five grandchildren; Kyle, Kevin, DJ, Erin & Cassidy, four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by a son Daniel Horgan, and his two sisters; Sr. Mary E. Horgan and Sr. Ann Horgan of the Sisters of Providence.

   Joseph was born in Worcester son of Mary (O'Leary) Horgan and Joseph J. Horgan, Sr..  He graduated from St. Stephen's High School.  He served his country in the United States Navy.  He was an electrician for the local 96 IBEW of Worcester for many years before retiring.  He and his wife enjoyed wintering in Florida and summering at Cape Cod.  He enjoyed sailing, camping in his fifth wheel, fishing and watching the New England Patriots.

   A Memorial mass will be officiated by Joseph's cousin Msgr. James P. Maroney, on Saturday, January 4th at 11:00 AM in St. Cecilia Church, 180 Mechanic Street, Leominster.  Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.  There are no calling hours.  Fay Brothers Funeral Home, 1 West Boylston Street, West Boylston is directing funeral arrangements.
